Kia Ora!
I’m Angela Wong, though my friends usually call me Jelly!
I am currently a postgraduate student at Te Pare School of Architecture and Planning (SoAP) at the University of Auckland, in my final year pursuing the Professional Combined Masters in Architecture and Urban Planning - the MArch(Prof)UrbPlan(Prof).
My interest in architecture lies in community-focused design engagement and planning practices, with a particular focus on community and education spaces and the urban realm, such as town centres, community hubs, schools, and public spaces. I am passionate about exploring new design methods and expanding my knowledge in green building design to ensure the most efficient and sustainable practices are used. Venturing into Urban Planning has provided me with valuable planning knowledge of the AUP and planning legislation (RMA 1991) in Aotearoa, as well as Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations, greatly building upon my foundation of architectural education, which I hope to carry into my future endeavours in the industry.
I am proficient in Adobe Suites (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop) and Rhino. Currently, I am learning Revit and Twinmotion to enhance my design capabilities.
Beyond my academic pursuits, I am passionate about making and sewing my own clothes, which I document on Instagram @pinnstitch. I also enjoy hosting sewing workshops teaching my friends and introducing them to the world of me made clothing. When I’m not sewing, you’ll find me outdoors exploring new hiking trails and playgrounds!
Thanks for stopping by!
